Domenic is a lawyer-preneur with extensive experience in corporate and entertainment law, advising on corporate structuring, business divorces, litigation, employment disputes, licensing, and complex contract negotiations across business, employment, media, and sports law. He’s passionate about demystifying the law and shares his expertise as an adjunct professor at Columbia Film School, teaching Entertainment Law for Filmmakers to producers, directors, and screenwriters at Columbia University.
His peers have recognized his work with a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rating for top legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards. He’s been named a New York Metro Super Lawyer every year since 2015 and has been on their Top 100 list since 2022.
Before founding Romano Law PLLC in 2003, Domenic practiced corporate law at firms such as Jones Day, Hahn & Hessen LLP, and Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP, and served as in-house counsel at Pasteur Merieux Connaught in Toronto (now Sanofi Canada).
Domenic is a member of both the New York City Bar Association and the Brooklyn Bar Association. He also founded the Business Lawyers Group, the Managing Partners Group, and the Entertainment Lawyers Group in New York City—networks that bring together experienced attorneys.
Of Italian heritage, Domenic speaks English, Italian, and French. He’s completed eight marathons—including New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, Vermont, and Rome—and over 30 half-marathons. A history buff with a good sense of humor, he also takes his pizza very seriously—no pineapple, please.
